Batch Reporting Date Parameters

Overview

For a standard QikKids report, you can set up the dates by selecting the Start and/or End dates.

However, the process for scheduled reports is different because recurring reports imply 'relative dates' - ie. dates relative to when the reports are run.

This screen will allow you to either pick a commonly used date period from a selection in the Simple Tab, or to configure custom date(s) with greater flexibility in the Advanced Tab.

Most QikKids reports require a date period, ie. a start and end date. However, some only require a start date or an end date. In these cases, users will need to use the Advanced Tab to set the single date.

This dialog will know whether the current report requires a date period or just one date, and will display the relevant options accordingly.

Simple Tab

There is a selection of commonly used date periods in the Simple Tab.

The options in the left column are for the last full period, ie. 'Last Week' would be Monday-Sunday of the previous week, 'Last Month' would be from the first day to the last day of the previous month.

The 'Last Closed Accounting Period' option is only available when period accounting is turned on.

The options in the right column are 'to-date's of the current period, ie. if today was 17th of the month, then 'Month-to-Date' would be from the 1st of the current month to the 17th of the current month.

  • Start Date & End Date
  • Start Date & Period
  • End Date & Period
  • Date Only - this is for reports that only require one date

Start / End Date

Report Date

Selecting the 'Report Date' option means that the date will be whatever date that the report is run on.

Relative Date

  • Textbox (showing '+1' in the image above). This allows you to set the the number of periods relative to the current period, where 0 is the current period, +1 is the next period, -1 is the previous period etc. Please see the examples section for more detail.
  • Day
    • Monday to Sunday
    • Start / End of Week / Month / Year

Report Period Length

This is only applicable in the 'Start Date & Period' and 'End Date & Period' configurations.

The report period length specifies the date period of the report, either starting on the Start Date or ending on the End Date.

Date Checker

Once the date(s) have been configured, check the bottom of the dialog to ensure that the dates have been configured properly.

The date in "For a report run on date, the reporting period will be..." can be changed so that you may ensure whether or not your date settings will work for different report run dates. This is for checking purposes only and will not affect when your report will actually be run.

Examples for Advanced Tab

  • 'The last three months from the start of three months ago to the end of last month'

Note that there are 3 different ways to do this (one for each configuration)
